The Big Sleep 2023: Spend a night outdoors on campus in support of a local homelessness charity

On Tuesday 28 March, staff and students will face the elements overnight for a glimpse of what many people in the city experience on a nightly basis.

We’re looking for staff and students to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness in Leicester and the reality of sleeping rough by joining The Big Sleep and spending a night under the stars.

²ÝÁñÊÓƵ and the University of Leicester are participating in this annual event in partnership, with events taking place simultaneously on both campuses from 8pm on Tuesday 28 March until 8am the following morning.

You can participate individually or as part of a team and you'll be encouraged to raise funds through asking friends and families to sponsor you.

We’ll be setting up the sleeping area outside the Food Village. to reserve a place, and we will send you an email with more information, including guidance on how to set up your sponsorship profile!

The Big Sleep is the perfect chance to do something different, have fun and raise money in support of a very worthy cause. All funds raised will go to , a Leicester-based charity that supports the homeless community by providing a range of support to people in the city who find themselves with nowhere to go and no one to turn to.

If you have any questions about the event in the meantime, feel free to get in touch by emailing engage@dmu.ac.uk.
