What you will study

Learners will be taught in blocks of one week at a time, each comprising five days of teaching. Delivery of the course will be through a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, group work, laboratory sessions, practical sessions and self-directed study. Learners must also create a portfolio which will capture the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout the programme and in the workplace.

Assessment

The theoretical modules within the apprenticeship are evaluated through completion of assessments including assignments, case studies, examinations and poster presentations. Assessment of the required practice outcomes, clinical skills and professional behaviours will be undertaken in practice placements where the apprentices will be supported by practice assessors, practice supervisors and academic assessors.

All assessed work is subject to ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Quality Assurance processes, successful completion of all components will lead to Gateway and completion of the endpoint assessment at a final Single Tier Assessment Board.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will hold:

Four-year direct entry route

Current employment as a healthcare assistant with a provider registered for the Degree Nurse Apprenticeship with ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ

 

Two-year progression route for registered nursing associates

Current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nursing Associate

Plus GCSEs at grade C/4 or above maths and English. Passes in Functional Skills and Key Skills qualifications at level 2 in maths and English can be accepted as equivalents.

Applicants will usually have undertaken study within the last five years
