Personal profile

John is a Chartered Building Services Engineer with an MSc in Energy and Sustainable Development. He has an academic focus on end user decision making for domestic energy efficiency retrofit. Why do, or don't, home owners choose to upgrade the energy efficiency of their property - with a specific lens of outright owner occupiers. They represent the largest single group of tenants and also have the longest average tenure lengths.
John is currently working as a Research Fellow on the LCAN project phase 2 (Leicestershire Collaboration to Accelerate Net-Zero), working in the universities partnership on Work Package 1 - Governance Frameworks.
He has completed a PhD course, successfully passed the Viva and is currently completing corrections before publication. The title of the thesis being: Engaging the Outright Owner-Occupier (Rotarian) towards a Net Zero future - attitudes, motivations, barriers and misconceptions of energy efficiency retrofit.
