Personal profile

Before transitioning to academia in 2019, I enjoyed a distinguished 13-year career within the financial services industry, where I was instrumental in driving various digital transformation projects through digital innovation.

I am committed to advancing impactful research in digital transformation, with a focus on digital innovation, inclusion, and AI-driven transformation. My research, teaching and industry engagements examine the social and ethical implications of digital technologies across diverse contexts, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), fintech, higher education, and marginalised communities.

With over 15 years of fintech industry experience, I take a pragmatic approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation. I also explore how the responsible use of digital technologies, (including AI) for transformation can align digital initiatives with global sustainability objectives, while supporting the UN SDGs, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Looking ahead, my goal is to influence the effective transfer of research outputs into actionable strategies that empower institutions, businesses, communities, and individuals in a manner that drives responsible, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation.
