Personal profile

Kwaku is a lecturer in business analytics, management science, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing and economics. He was a Visiting Prof. at Warwick University, UK, and Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He earned his Ph.D. in operational research and management science from Warwick University, UK, his MSc. in Economics and Finance (with distinction) from Loughborough University, UK, and his undergraduate degree in Economics (with first-class honors) from The University of Ghana-Legon. Additionally, he is a Decision Science and Machine Learning scholar from MIT, USA and a past DFID (UK) award scholar. He played key roles in the Economics Department and Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick, and served as an Economics lecturer at Lancaster University Ghana and GIMPA Business School and plays senior lecturer roles at the University of Ghana.

Kwaku’s research focuses on performance management, economic efficiency and productivity analysis, mathematical programming, data envelopment analysis (DEA), stochastic frontier econometrics, business analytics, management science techniques, data science, AI, machine learning, and their applications. He has published and reviewed papers in Energy Economics, International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance, OMEGA, Journal of African Business, The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice, Journal of International Business, International Journal of Energy Sector Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Productivity Analysis, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of Cleaner Production, Economics and Business Letters, African Journal of Business Management, and International Journal of Managerial Finance.

In the University of Ghana, he has developed a research-based course on DEA that integrates research directly into teaching. Additionally, since 2015, he played a pioneering role in creating and teaching the advanced quantitative research methods course for Ph.D. students. Kwaku's business projects have allowed him to collaborate and exchange ideas with some of the most accomplished doctors and business people in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK, South Africa, Ireland, Maldives, Dubai, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. He is an enterpreneur who has trained over 12,000 business partners in the Glutathione company. Kwaku advocates for entrepreneurship and youth self-employment. He has received numerous awards for his exceptional work and leadership abilities. In 2021, he was awarded the Global Leadership Award. He is one of the key leaders of the GotBackUp organization in the USA and one of the 15-member board of directors. Kwaku is also a consultant, life mentor, unique value trainer and a learner. His hobbies include soccer, movies, research, public speaking and online teaching.
