Personal profile

My name is Maria Taylor and I am a Part Time Lecturer in Creative Writing. I am also a poet with two full collections, Melanchrini (2012), and Dressing for the Afterlife (2020), both with Nine Arches Press. I have also written various reviews and curated public events. My poetry has been widely published and shortlisted for awards, including the Forward prize. My research interests are in contemporary poetry. I am interested in transcultural works and women’s poetry. I have also published work on pedagogical aspects of Creative Writing, in particular on reflective practices. My heritage is British Cypriot.
