Personal profile

Jisook is a PhD Researcher in Textile Technology, in particular developing surface modification and patterning for textile materials by laser technology. Her research aims to develop laser technology for surface modification and colouration of textile materials by using CO2 laser equipment.

Following a 7 year career as a textile designer, Jisook completed an MA in Fashion and Textiles at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ before starting her PhD. Her PhD research investigates a new digital laser technology for textile fabric surface treatment to achieve surface patterning with creative, innovative and CAD-based graphic design for cotton, wool, and synthetic fabric production.

Jisook’s approach to research is influenced by her experience as a designer and from MA, focuses on sustainable manufacturing technology for textile material production to replace conventional chemical-based manufacturing system.
